STORY OF THIS BLOG

After years of having radical thoughts swimming around in my head, i finally decided to pen them down.

This is a collection of ramblings, thoughts, ideas, visions of a better world, poetry and song that have chanced their way through my head.

I hope you can derive some value and insight from them.

Feel free to share similar thoughts and ideas via links to your own blogs and homepages.

I'd be grateful for any interesting material coming my way.

Indian classical music

Is one of the most technically complex music in the world.

And has its origins in the 4000 year old ancient Indian scriptures of the Vedas.

Since it is so complex, there is usually a very strong bond between master and apprentice, Shishya and Guru, and this has ensured passing down of the knowledge of classical music since atleast 2000 years (thats when the Sitar dates back to, i think)

It is said that God himself manifested through music.

This quote by a one of India:s leading classical musicians is testament to that belief.

"If you practice for ten years, you may begin
to please yourself, after twenty years you
may become a performer and please an audience,
after thirty years you may please even your
guru, but you must practice for many more years
before you finally become a true artist -- then
you may please even God. "
-Ali Akbar Khan
